Church Membership

Church membership is a way for the church and the attender to recognize that we are partnering together to fulfill the church’s mission to “Love God, Love Others, & Make Disciples.” All are welcome to attend our church and be a part of our church in different ways, but membership is for baptized believers in Jesus who express a desire to partner with our mission. Membership opens opportunities for leadership positions and other areas of service within the church. There are other spiritual and practical benefits as well. There is no cost to membership, but we recognize the following basic commitments that all Christians serving in a local church are called to follow: 

I partner with the FGBC Mission to:

Love God

  • Seek to honor God in my public and in private life
  • Grow in my relationship with God through church services and personal Bible study
  • Pray regularly for others in our church and for God’s kingdom to grow

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart.” (Matthew 22:37)

Love Others

  • Forgive and seek peace with all
  • Use words to build up and not tear down
  • Be mindful of the needs of others and help when possible

“As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” (John 13:35)

Make Disciples

  • Serve in at least one ministry of the church
  • Give financially and in other ways as God enables me to support the work of the church
  • Connect with a small group or discipleship class

“Go and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19)
