How to Serve

The Bible reveals that God calls Christians to use their gifts to serve others.  As Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."  Thus, one of the major principles at Florida Gardens Baptist Church (FGBC) is to "equip the saints for the work of ministry" (Eph 4:12).

FGBC has many types of ministries in which you can serve.  If you are interested in serving, you are encouraged to do the following:
  1. Look over the list of ministries FGBC currently offers.  If one interests you, contact the team leader to find out when the ministry occurs.  If you are unsure as to who serves as the team leader, contact the office at (561) 964-7693.
  2. If there is a ministry that God has given you a passion for and FGBC does not currently have a functioning ministry in that area, feel free to set up a meeting with Pastor Travis to discuss your vision and passion.
While FGBC does not, at this time, limit serving in ministries to members only, there are some ministries where membership is required.  For example, any ministry that involves minors requires an individual to be both a member and to submit to a background check.

Additionally, while membership is not a prerequisite to serving in some areas of ministry, typically, you are encouraged to follow the model below:
  1. Begin attending worship services
  2. Join a small group study and/or Sunday School Class
  3. Become a member of FGBC
  4. Begin serving in one of the various ministries
